Coronation Street fans think they’ve figured out who Kevin Webster’s next romance will be — and they couldn’t be happier about it.
Viewers of the ITV soap will recall that Abi (Sally Carman) had an affair with Kevin’s (Michael Le Vell) younger brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard).
After months of keeping their relationship under wraps, Kevin eventually discovered the truth when Abi accidentally sent him a text intended for Carl.
The message exposed their betrayal, sparking a fiery confrontation that ended with Kevin demanding Abi leave his life for good.
Abi, along with her young son Alfie (Carter and Oakley Razak Townsend), later moved in with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) above the café — leaving Kevin heartbroken and struggling to cope alone at number 13, according to the Liverpool Echo.
On Monday (November 10), it was revealed that Abi had managed to move into Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) former flat.
As she began unpacking and settling in, several locals couldn’t help but notice how strange it was that Carl wasn’t around to lend a hand.
Meanwhile, during a visit to his friend Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), Kevin opened up about his breakup with Abi, admitting: “I’m just trying to get through it, aren’t I? It’s a bit of a struggle. I still care for her… I know I must be daft, but I can’t help it.”
Now, a number of Corrie fans are convinced that Kevin could soon develop a romantic connection with Rovers barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger).
Viewers may remember that Kevin once attempted to kiss Glenda shortly after discovering Abi’s affair — a moment that led Glenda to ask his sister Debbie (Sue Devaney) to check in on him.
Glenda has since made peace with Kevin and continues to keep an eye on him whenever he visits the Rovers.
One fan wrote on a Facebook page: “We’ve seen how close Glenda’s friendship with Debbie Webster has grown over the months. Glenda deserves a proper love interest. Kevin’s awkward attempt to kiss her was cringeworthy, but given time, maybe Glenda could be what Kevin needs — a good, loyal woman.”
Another viewer commented: “There’s not much choice on the Street for Glenda. Could Kevin be a possible love interest?”
A third added: “Opposites attract — or so they say — so who knows? With the way soaps are going, anything’s possible. I just hope Glenda finds love.”
And a fourth fan agreed, writing: “I think Kevin needs to try something different. Most of the women he’s been with have had their own baggage, and he’s often ended up carrying it too. Glenda actually seems like a good match for him.”
