Emmerdale’s Amelia Flanagan, known for her role as April Windsor, has received an outpouring of support from fans following a big personal announcement.

Emmerdale fans have sent their congratulations to April Windsor actress Amelia Flanagan after she shared some exciting news outside of the soap.
Amelia rose to fame in 2014 when she joined the ITV series at just six years old, playing April, the daughter of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth).
She quickly became a key part of the show, taking on several major storylines — from her mother’s heartbreaking death to living on the streets, April’s life in the Dales has been anything but quiet.
More recently, her character has been caught up in a dark and dangerous world involving crime, exploitation, and drugs.

Away from the soap, April actress Amelia recently marked an exciting milestone in her personal life. The joint Flanagan family Instagram account shared that Amelia had officially passed her driving test.
Alongside a picture of Amelia proudly holding her driving certificate, the caption read: “What a week! @ameliaflanagan08, you’re absolutely smashing it in every part of life and we couldn’t be prouder. Drive safely, gorgeous girl!”

Fans quickly flocked to the comments to celebrate Amelia’s achievement. One wrote: “Well done, safe driving!” Another added: “Congratulations Amelia on passing your driving test x Such a talented and beautiful actress.”
Sharing similar sentiments, another fan commented: “A huge well done, Amelia.” Yet another said: “Aww, well done sweetheart! You’re a star in everything you do — congratulations and enjoy safe driving!”

Amelia isn’t the only actor in her family. She has younger twin siblings, Isabella and William, who play Hope Stape and Joseph Brown, respectively, on rival soap Coronation Street.
Earlier this year at the British Soap Awards, Amelia won Best Young Performer, marking Emmerdale’s second win of the night while EastEnders dominated the awards overall. Her brother William was also nominated and became emotional during Amelia’s acceptance speech.
When Amelia was announced as the winner, William jumped out of his seat, clapping and cheering enthusiastically for his sister. Fans watching the ceremony at home quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to the touching moment.
One viewer wrote: “Aww Amelia Flanagan — her little brother’s reaction when she won the award! I’m crying, so cute! #BritishSoapAwards.” Another commented: “The way her brother stood up to applaud her, you can tell he’s so proud. #BritishSoapAwards.”
