Emmerdale fans were stunned after a star revealed a dramatic new look.
An Emmerdale star’s transformation has left fans amazed, with many saying, “I can’t get used to it.”
ITV soap viewers will remember that village doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) first appeared in 2014 and has since been part of several intense storylines.
His daughter, Leanna (Mimi Slinger), was tragically murdered by serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) in 2021. Last year, Liam began dating child killer Ella Forster (Paula Lane) before later having an affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who is now his fiancée.
Liam was also caught up in the soap’s dramatic limo crash in February, which claimed the lives of Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson), and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).
More recently, the village GP faced a personal health scare when he underwent testing for prostate cancer after noticing alarming symptoms. Thankfully, the results came back negative, bringing huge relief to his loved ones.
In recent episodes, Liam was shocked to learn that Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) prison husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), had been faking a terminal illness.
Kev quickly warned Liam to keep quiet, saying: “I know it, and you know it. As my GP, that’s how it stays — just between us.
“You’re a smart man. You’re not going to cause trouble for yourself, are you?” he added. “Because if my husband were to find out about this, then you and I would have a serious problem — and you don’t want that, do you?”
Emmerdale viewers were left stunned when Liam recently appeared on-screen with a completely clean-shaven look, ditching his trademark beard and moustache.
ITV viewers quickly took to social media to express their surprise over the star’s new look.
“Liam looks so different without his beard! I keep thinking it’s a completely different character on screen — though I must admit, he looks very smart,” one fan commented on a Facebook page.
Another agreed, writing: “I was thinking the same thing — he looks so different,” while a third added: “I just can’t get used to it! He looks totally different without the beard.”
Emmerdale ended on a dramatic cliffhanger last night (Wednesday, November 12) when Liam accidentally revealed a lie Robert had told Kev.
However, fans will have to wait until Friday for the next episode, as the ITV soap won’t air tonight (Thursday, November 13) due to football coverage.
