Ex-Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher has reunited with his family for the third season of Fletchers’ Family Farm.
Kelvin Fletcher has opened up about his “biggest concern” after sustaining an injury.
The former Emmerdale star returned with his family for the third season of Fletchers’ Family Farm.
The ITV show aired on Sunday (November 16), once again following Kelvin, his wife Liz, and their four children as they managed the day-to-day tasks of running their farm.
During the episode, the 41-year-old actor introduced viewers to several volunteers from the David Lewis Centre, a charity that supports people with complex needs.
As an ambassador for the organisation, Fletcher revealed that he had taken part in a local rugby tournament to raise funds, enlisting “world-class” players including Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan, and Danny McGuire.
Flanagan, who captained the team that day, initially put Fletcher on the bench, joking that he “doesn’t really know what he’s doing.”
Flanagan added: “He’s an actor, a farmer, a fantastic dancer, but when it comes to rugby, I’m not sure he really knows what he’s doing, so it’s a great opportunity for those with more experience.
“Kelvin can take out his notepad, make a few notes, and see how it goes.”
Fletcher eventually joined the game, but footage showed him being tackled by an opponent, chuckling: “I got pummelled good there, didn’t I?”
Unfortunately, the incident turned out to be more serious. He admitted: “A little injury. I’m hoping, fingers crossed it’s not, but it feels like I’ve torn my bicep.”
The timing was particularly bad, as throughout the episode, he had been talking about plans to showcase some of his Lincoln Red cows at the upcoming Royal Cheshire Show.
Liz asked her husband: “My main concern is, can you still pull the cow on Tuesday?” The former Strictly champion replied: “That’s what I’m worried about. I have to get you in. Super sub.”
In a separate interview, Liz commented: “I don’t know if he’s pulled a muscle, snapped a tendon, or what’s happened, but I want to make sure he can still lead the cow.
“It’s the arm he would normally use to lead the cow, so we’ll have to get him strapped up and make sure he’s okay.”
After revealing that the Farmyard Flyers had finished fifth out of six in the rugby tournament, Fletcher’s cheerful voiceover added: “All in all, despite the bruises, it’s been a fantastic day.
“Now, if someone could point me to the nearest A&E, that would be great.”
He then admitted to the camera: “My biggest concern now is getting fit for the Cheshire Show and my cow duties, so we’ll have to see how it goes.”
The question remains: will Kelvin be able to take part in the Royal Cheshire Show, or will his recent injury prevent him from participating?
