Fans of I’m A Celebrity were left frustrated after being unable to vote for the first Bushtucker Trial of the series, with many reporting issues with the app.
Fans of I’m A Celebrity were left fuming after reporting glitches with the voting app during last night’s episode.
The ITV1 show, filmed in Australia, kicked off with five celebrities soaring over a beach in a helicopter before having to jump out. The daring group included Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, model Kelly Brook, rapper Aitch, comedian Eddie Kadi, and former EastEnders star Shona McGarty.
Next, they had to make their way through a wooden structure filled with slime and offal to retrieve a key fob for their escape vehicle. Aitch (real name Harrison Armstrong) and Kadi emerged victorious, earning cocktails upon reaching their ride. The unlucky trio were sent to the Cockie van, which featured a giant beetle sculpture.
Meanwhile, the other campmates — Wax, Burtwistle, soap star Lisa Riley, TV presenter Jack Osbourne, and sports broadcaster Alex Scott — missed out on the skydiving segment, instead arriving at a luxurious villa where they competed for a spot in the getaway car.
The challenge required them to place their heads into boxes filled with snakes and plunge their hands into a container of green ants to unscrew bolts and retrieve the prized car fob. Osbourne and Burtwistle successfully completed the task, while Brook, Kemp, McGarty, Riley, Wax, and Scott were sent to join Kiosk Kev in the Cockie van.
Once at camp, Jack prepared a steak dinner with mushrooms and avocado for Eddie, Aitch, and Angryginge, while the rest of the group had to make do with emu neck. However, when fans were invited to vote for the first Bushtucker Trial of the series, some viewers expressed frustration, accusing the show of being rigged due to apparent glitches in the voting app.
One frustrated viewer took to X, writing: “I’m A Celebrity is a fix. Can’t vote because the app doesn’t work.”
Another added: “It would be great if they fixed this app. It didn’t work for a lot of people, and we couldn’t vote.”
A third asked: “Is anyone else having issues with the voting app? Why won’t it let me vote?”
The first celebrities to face an eating challenge on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be comedian Ruby Wax and social media star Morgan Burtwistle, better known as Angryginge. Hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed during Sunday’s premiere that the stomach-churning Bushtucker Trial will take place at the “revolting restaurant,” The Divey.
