Corrie fans were devastated as Theo’s abuse sank to a new low on Monday night.

Coronation Street fans have been left distraught as Todd Grimshaw endures further abuse, ultimately leading him to walk away from the job he loves.
Viewers of the ITV soap will know that scaffolder Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) has treated his boyfriend Todd (Gareth Pierce) appallingly throughout their relationship, but Monday’s episode (November 17) showed him crossing yet another line.
Since they first got together, Theo has subjected Todd to both emotional and physical abuse — belittling him, gaslighting him, degrading him, and even dumping milk over his head and forcing him to eat food against his will.
In Friday’s episode (November 14), Todd and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) spent the day organising an important funeral, before relaxing with a pint in the Rovers.

George insisted that Todd be up early for the funeral the next morning, and Todd assured him he’d only have one more drink — though Theo had very different plans.
After secretly ordering Todd a double, Theo ended up hauling him home, leaving him to sleep on the sofa, and then interfering with his work belongings.
By Monday, Theo had purposely thrown all of Todd’s white shirts into the washing machine, ensuring he had nothing suitable to wear for the major funeral.
At the same time, George was stunned when Todd failed to show up and sent Christina Midgeley (Amy Robbins) over to check on him.

Todd scrambled to get ready for the service, only to discover that his phone hadn’t charged overnight, leaving his alarm useless.
As panic set in, Theo pretended he hadn’t played any part in the chaos — washing Todd’s shirts and getting him drunk — making Todd feel entirely at fault. By the time he reached work, George was livid, and the stained blue shirt Todd wore only added to his anger.

When George informed Todd that he was being stood down and that Christina would take his place at the funeral, Todd was visibly upset.
Later, after George and Christina returned from the service, Todd and George erupted into a fierce argument, which ended with Todd being kicked out.
Not done causing trouble, Theo later invited George over so he and Todd could attempt to resolve their dispute.
Even though George tried to apologise, Todd was still furious over the disrespect he had endured. He declared that he was quitting his job and angrily told George to leave.
Theo went on to verbally attack Todd and left him sobbing alone on the sofa, leaving Coronation Street fans devastated by the abusive scene.

On X, one fan commented: “This shattered me. Watching it felt just as painful as seeing physical abuse.”
Another added: “So hard to watch, but both actors are doing a phenomenal job with this storyline. Poor George as well.”
A third wrote: “What an emotional scene between them 😢,” while another said: “Such a horrific cycle of abuse — it’s devastating to witness.”
“Theo has completely broken our Todd. That final scene was absolutely heartbreaking,” shared one viewer.
