Coronation Street viewers said an emotional goodbye to Daisy Midgeley earlier this year.
Daisy, portrayed by Charlotte Jordan, departed the cobbles in May to begin a new life in Bali, taking £60,000 belonging to her stepmum, Jenny Connor.
Since exiting the ITV soap, 31-year-old Charlotte revealed she had joined the cast of The Archers.
Appearing on This Morning in April, she teased details about her new role, saying: “Yes, I start very soon. I can’t say much, but the character will definitely ruffle some feathers — that’s all I can say!”
But now reports suggest that Charlotte has been forced to step away from that part after being cast in another show, leaving her unable to juggle both roles.

Charlotte is set to star in the new BBC period drama The Hairdresser Mysteries, taking on one of the lead roles alongside Sally Phillips and Charlotte Hope.

A synopsis reveals: “Set in the 1970s, high-end hair stylist Lily Petal [played by Sally Phillips] leaves the city to run a hair salon in a small town, quickly becoming the centre of gossip and secrets.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for The Archers told RadioTimes about Charlotte’s departure: “After a brilliant performance as Amber, Charlotte Jordan is taking time to focus on other projects. We are delighted to welcome Olivia Bernstone to the cast, who will take over the role of Amber.”

Since leaving Coronation Street, Charlotte has debuted a striking new hairstyle, sharing her transformation on Instagram.

The actress revealed she had “cut all her hair off” into a chic cropped bob. Sharing a photo of her new look on Instagram, she wrote: “Bob life now guys.”

Her hairdresser also gave fans a peek at the transformation on TikTok, joking: “You’ve had all your hair cut off, and we don’t really know what to do!”

Giggling, Charlotte replied: “Be an actor, they said. It’ll be fun, they said! Here we are, kids…”

She added: “Look, it was for a role! You’ve got to do what’s needed, and then fix it afterwards. Come along as we grow it out — join us!”
