Coronation Street’s Becky Swain continued to stir up drama in Monday’s episode.
Fans will remember that tensions have been high for Lisa Swain and Carla Connor, following the shocking return of Lisa’s supposedly deceased wife, Becky, who had been in hiding for four years. Their daughter, Betsy, was also stunned by her mother’s sudden reappearance.
In Monday’s episode, Becky revealed she had received a funeral wreath with the message, “Rest in Peace – Again!”, leaving Betsy worried and fearful for her mother.
Later, Becky spoke to DI Costello, warning him that whoever sent the wreath was serious, and she was determined to uncover the truth.
Becky then photographed a group of teenage girls, one of whom was DI Costello’s daughter. DI Costello was alarmed when he received the photo and had a stern conversation with Becky over the phone.
At the end of the episode, just as Carla confided in Lisa about the strain in their relationship caused by Becky’s return, Betsy pleaded with them to let Becky stay at the house for her own safety.
After reluctantly agreeing, Carla appeared defeated while a smug Becky sent a text to a mysterious contact, writing: “I’ve got a job for you. It’ll be dead fun. Plenty of ££££.”
Soap fans suspect that Becky sent the wreath to herself and plans to frame Carla for it, further driving a wedge between Carla and Lisa so she can reclaim her family.
Taking to Twitter (now X), one viewer wrote: “Is Becky going to pin the wreath on Carla? Bet she’ll even tell Betsy (and Lisa?) that the ‘proof’ is Carla doesn’t want her around and has attacked her multiple times #Swarla #Corrie.”

In dramatic scenes later this week, following more of Becky’s interference, a heartbroken Carla decides to end her relationship, leaving Lisa stunned as she breaks up with her.
