Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw, played by Gareth Pierce, is forced to stay hidden in his own home next week.
Todd is trapped in an abusive and controlling relationship with his new partner, Theo Silverton, played by James Cartwright. In Monday’s episode, viewers saw Theo pushing Todd to train for a half marathon, relentlessly urging him to run despite his obvious difficulties.
As the week unfolds, things worsen when Theo brings in a full-length mirror, demanding Todd use it daily to monitor his appearance.
Later, when James Bailey flirts with Todd and drops off some fitness gear, a jealous Theo accuses Todd of being attracted to James before unleashing his anger.
Next week’s spoilers reveal the aftermath, with Theo forcing Todd to stay in the flat for several days, worried that others might see his injuries and jump to the wrong conclusions.
A reluctant Todd goes along with the plan, and it isn’t long before Summer Spellman discovers that Todd has canceled plans with her because he’s supposedly gone to London, a lie that Theo goes along with.
Later, while alone in the flat, a bored Todd looks out of the window and spots someone outside, leaving him panicked as he quickly hides.
It turns out to be Summer, who rushes to find Theo and tells him she saw someone in the flat, insisting it must be a burglar.
With few options, Theo agrees to investigate, and tensions rise when Gary Windass and Ben insist on accompanying him for backup.
Later in the week, after hearing about the supposed burglary, Dev Alahan visits the flat. When Todd emerges from the shower, he is forced to lie again, claiming he’s just returned from London and that the cut on his head is the result of a drunken mishap.
Things take a darker turn when Theo gives Todd a fitness watch and suggests that, now he’s “back from London,” he should continue his training and aim for a 10K goal, leaving Todd feeling uneasy.
Later, after returning from a painful run, Todd is offered a cuppa by Christina Boyd, causing Theo to grow tense as he fears his secret might be revealed.
By the end of the week, the situation worsens when Theo shows Todd the exercise bike he’s bought for him. Passing by, Billy and Summer notice the cut on Todd’s face. Theo quickly lies, claiming Todd got the injury while partying in London, but Billy remains suspicious.
Things take another turn when Theo’s ex-wife, Danielle, arrives and announces she is taking the children to Tenerife for Christmas.
Fearing Theo’s reaction, Todd is surprised when Theo supports Danielle’s festive plans. But Theo’s true nature emerges once Danielle leaves, as he checks Todd’s fitness app and berates him for completing only one sprint.
As tensions rise, Theo attempts to blame Todd for Danielle’s decision, causing Todd to snap. Declaring he can’t take it anymore, a determined Todd gets ready to leave. However, when Theo begins slapping himself in the face, Todd is left stunned… will he still go through with leaving Theo?
