“Emmerdale fans worry an iconic resident could be framed for a crime they didn’t commit.”
Emmerdale has hinted at Kev Townsend’s departure following his recent involvement in an armed robbery, though viewers doubt he’ll end up behind bars.
As fans of the ITV soap know, Kev (Chris Coghill) arrived in the village hoping to reignite his romance with husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). However, it soon became clear the couple were not meant to be, as Robert began a secret relationship with his ex-husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Kev deceived Robert into thinking he was both wealthy and suffering from a terminal illness, hoping to keep him close. The former convict also carried out an armed robbery to maintain his finances and provide Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) with money to support their farming venture.
On Tuesday (November 25), Robert and Aaron devised a plan to report Kev to the police and get him sent back to prison so they could be together in peace.
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) spotted her son Aaron with Robert and warned them that they would be in danger if Kev found out. Robert then admitted they were back together and explained their plan to tip off the authorities about Kev. However, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) soon interrupted with some alarming news.
The doctor revealed that Kev had deceived him into acting as his getaway driver during the robbery, and he would also face charges if Kev is reported to the police.
Liam then dropped the bombshell that Kev’s illness isn’t terminal—he isn’t dying. The revelation left Aaron shocked, while Robert was left reeling.
Determined to locate Kev’s hidden cash and stolen items, Aaron began tailing him around the village and observed him making his way into the church.
It emerged that Kev had stashed the stolen items inside the church, and Aaron immediately realised there was enough evidence to prove Kev’s guilt.
However, sharp-eyed Emmerdale viewers quickly noticed that Aaron had handled the stolen goods without wearing gloves, which could make him a suspect in the armed robbery. Will Kev pin the crime on Aaron and get him sent to prison?
