George Clarke surprised viewers with a frank admission on Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing results show.

Strictly Come Dancing favourite George Clarke caused a stir among viewers following a candid admission during the latest results show.

On Sunday night’s programme (November 30), hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced that George and his professional partner Alexis Warr had successfully secured a place in the quarter-finals of the BBC contest.

Actress Alex Kingston became the eighth celebrity to leave Strictly, exiting alongside her dance partner Johannes Radebe after losing the dance-off to EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

However, while speaking with Claudia, George revealed that he dislikes musicals — just as the theme for the upcoming week was revealed.

In next Saturday’s live show (December 8), George will attempt to impress the judges with a tango set to Phantom of the Opera, reports Wales Online.

Claudia asked George, “Now, you can be completely honest with us — we’re all friends here. How do you feel about musicals?”

“I love them so much,” he replied, before adopting a serious expression and adding, “I hate them.”

He went on: “I just tend to skip the musical numbers. It’s like watching them on TV. I don’t actually get up and go to the toilet if I’m at the theatre.”

George’s blunt admission has divided Strictly viewers, with some finding it amusing, while others were decidedly unimpressed.

One fan cautioned on X: “#Strictly Be careful what you say, George — most viewers love musicals. You could annoy a lot of supporters. #scd #StrictlyComeDancing.”

Another expressed their disappointment: “Of course he hates musicals, George — is there anything he actually enjoys?”

A third added: “Musicals week next week and George openly admits he hates musicals lol, gotta respect the honesty #Strictly.”

Meanwhile, another asked: “George doesn’t like musicals? 😳 #Strictly.”

“I literally spat out my tea when George said he hated musicals. Loved his honesty #Strictly,” one fan commented.

“Honestly, at least George is being completely honest LMAOOO #Strictly,” another added.
