Emmerdale viewers are growing worried that a fan favourite could be leaving the show soon.
Fans have become concerned for one villager who hasn’t appeared in recent episodes of the ITV soap.
Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has faced a turbulent year after discovering his wife Dawn (Olivia Bromley) had an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), and it seems he’s taking some time away from the drama in the Dales.
Determined to start a new chapter with Joe, Dawn ended her marriage to a heartbroken Billy, who later discovered her betrayal through his daughter, Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison).
After learning that Dawn still had feelings for Joe — even after Joe blackmailed Clemmie — Billy threatened to take the children away. He has since moved out of Home Farm and continues to have a tense relationship with his ex-wife and her new partner.
Billy is still employed at Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) depot, but he hasn’t appeared in recent episodes at work. His absence hasn’t gone unnoticed by Emmerdale fans, who are now questioning where he has gone.
One viewer took to Reddit to ask: “Has Billy vanished completely? He hasn’t been seen in months.”
Another responded: “I wouldn’t be shocked if they soon announced he’d left the show off-screen.”
A third fan commented: “He’s probably just keeping his distance from Dawn — can’t blame him, to be honest, she’s a lot to handle, lol.”
Another viewer added: “No one even mentions him anymore. You’d think someone would ask where Billy is.”
A different fan pointed out: “It’s strange, especially since we’ve seen plenty of scenes at the depot lately.”
However, Billy makes his return to the ITV soap on Wednesday (October 8), where viewers will see him back at work for Caleb in the depot. Meanwhile, Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) continues his shady dealings behind everyone’s backs.
When Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) informs Dylan that Billy will be the one driving to Hull while he simply tags along, Dylan starts to panic about how he’ll manage to complete Ray’s (Joe Abolom) drug delivery.
Upcoming episodes will also show Dawn growing even closer to her current partner Joe as she opens up about her painful past. But could Billy still be waiting in the background?
