One Strictly Come Dancing pro is set for an exciting few weeks ahead

A Strictly Come Dancing star has landed an exciting new role outside of the BBC show.
With Christmas approaching, pantomime season is back, and one professional dancer from Strictly is swapping the ballroom for the stage in a production of Aladdin.
Neil Jones, who has been part of Strictly since 2016, will star in a star-studded Aladdin at Middleton Arena, taking on the role of Abanazar.
However, the 43-year-old will only assume the part from December 21, likely due to Strictly commitments, with Callum Arnott performing until December 20. The pantomime will run until Monday, December 29, 2025.
Other cast members include CBBC’s Chris Johnson as Billy, EastEnders’ Ricky Groves as The King, Tom Sentia as Aladdin, Craig Colley as Dame Betty, Ruby Millard as The Princess, and Lucy Samuels as The Spirit of the Ring, according to Wales Online.

A synopsis explains: “Audiences will follow Aladdin, his mother Betty, and his brother Billy as they try to stop the evil Abanazar and his plan to become Master of the World.
“With the help of the Genie of the Lamp and the Spirit of the Ring, Aladdin embarks on a quest to save the day and win the princess’s heart.
“Featuring dazzling special effects, vibrant costumes, lively songs, and plenty of laughs, the production promises to be a show for all ages.”
Neil is also set to appear on Celebrity Escape to the Country, as confirmed by the BBC. The popular series will see celebrities exploring the possibility of leaving city life behind for a taste of the countryside.
The lineup for this series includes journalist and TV presenter Janet Street Porter, choirmaster and broadcaster Gareth Malone, and singer-actor Chesney Hawkes.

They will be joined by former footballer and TV personality Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, broadcaster and presenter Angellica Bell, and Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil.
Guided by Escape to the Country’s experienced hosts, the celebrities will embark on an exciting journey into the countryside, exploring locations from the ancient woodlands of the New Forest to the wild moorlands of Yorkshire and beyond.
These new hour-long specials will once again follow the stars as they step out of their city lives in search of the perfect rural retreat. Along the way, they’ll experience the joys and realities of country living, from stunning landscapes and charming homes to the unique communities that make Britain’s countryside so special.
