“A Strictly Come Dancing star has received an outpouring of support from fans.”
A Strictly Come Dancing star has been inundated with support after sharing a heartfelt message following their exit from the show.
On Sunday evening, Alex Kingston became the eighth celebrity eliminated from Strictly, alongside her professional partner Johannes Radebe.
The duo faced the dreaded dance-off against EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal and pro Julian Caillon, having to repeat their Saturday night routines.
After both performances, the judges made their decision: Anton Du Beke wanted to save Alex and Johannes, while Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse supported Balvinder and Julian.
This week, head judge Shirley Ballas held the deciding vote and also chose to save Balvinder and Julian, securing their place in Strictly’s musicals week, according to the Mirror.
Following her departure, 62-year-old Doctor Who star Alex took to Instagram to share a moving and sincere message, which was met with widespread fan support.
Sharing several photos from her Strictly journey, Alex wrote:
“Hello sweeties, where do I even start… Strictly has been the experience of a lifetime and a dream come true. A year ago, in the middle of radiotherapy, I never would have believed that a year later I’d be on Strictly Come Dancing!
“I’m incredibly proud of everything Johannes and I have achieved, and so thankful to my body for getting me this far. Dancing with Jo Jo has always been a dream, and we truly made it happen! Thank you endlessly to everyone who supported us. Being able to do this at my age is such a privilege, and your belief in us carried me through even the toughest days.
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that it’s never too late to try something new and fall in love with it. Whether it’s a local dance class or a new hobby, keep exploring and living life to the fullest. And above all… keep dancing!
“To the cast and professionals, it’s been wonderful spending time with all of you. Thank you for the encouragement and cheers from the sidelines.
“I’ve loved watching everyone grow on their journeys and can’t wait to keep following along. A huge thank you also goes to all the crew working behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly and we look amazing!”
“Johannes, every day I’ve been amazed by your kindness, elegance, and your ability to bring calm to any storm. You light up every room you enter, my darling man! I can’t thank you enough for helping me find my steel balls and ‘exquisite’ legs! May your bag always be full of mints, and your heart full of joy and happiness. Love you so much.”
The comments section quickly filled with praise. One fan wrote: “You and Jojo lit up our screens with such grace and elegance, and your endless determination. You will always be the rumba Queen!” Another added: “You’ve been phenomenal, classy, and a true professional. I hadn’t watched this show in a decade, but I tuned in just to see you, and it’s been so much fun.” A third comment simply said: “You were brilliant!”
Elsewhere, another supporter shared: “Alex, you are incredible. I’m so proud of you and Johannes for making it this far. Watching you shine every week has been such a pleasure, you little star.
