Coronation Street has released a new trailer ahead of the must-see episode next year.

Coronation Street has teased an “explosive” crash storyline as three additional cast members have been confirmed.
Back in May, it was revealed that Emmerdale and Coronation Street would come together for a one-off special, bringing characters from both Weatherfield and the Dales into a unique crossover event.
The two productions have joined forces for an “ambitious stunt” that promises “lasting consequences for everyone involved.”
Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle, and Vicky Myers from Coronation Street were announced as the first cast members from Emmerdale and Corrie to begin filming the crossover, with three more stars confirmed on Monday (December 1).

ITV has dropped a gripping teaser trailer offering fans a sneak peek at the explosive crossover episode.
For the first time, it’s been confirmed that a multi-vehicle pile-up lies at the heart of the drama, bringing the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale together for a one-night-only event.

The tense trailer depicts the wreckage on a dark, stormy country road near the village of Hotten. Panicked voices call out for help as emergency crews arrive at the scene.

Fans of both soaps will recognise familiar faces including David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh, and Aaron Dingle. Joining Danny Miller and Vicky Myers in the cast are Corrie stars Jack P. Shepherd and Kate Ford, along with Emmerdale’s Jonny McPherson.

The episode’s synopsis asks: “What has drawn the residents of Weatherfield across the Pennines to Yorkshire, and how have characters from both soaps ended up in a devastating crash?”

Scheduled to air in early January 2026, the special episode will celebrate the soap genre and kick off ITV’s new “soap power hour” scheduling for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

In addition to revealing three new crossover cast members, today’s promo also debuted the iconic Corriedale logo for the first time.

“Corriedale is only the beginning of the chaos, as the fallout from the crash sparks fear, murderous intentions, death, destruction, hidden secrets, and lies,” the synopsis reads.
“Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will be changed forever!”

Iain Macleod, ITV Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, previously said: “It’s incredibly exciting that filming has begun on Corriedale. There’s a huge buzz at both the Leeds and Manchester studios, and the footage coming from the set is absolutely stunning.

“And that’s before we even get to all the amazing trans-Pennine interactions between characters from the two shows! As a soap fan myself, I honestly think my head will explode when the episode airs next year. It’s going to be mind-blowing, historic, and unmissable.”

Corrie and Emmerdale have already included several crossover nods in recent episodes, such as John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) wanted poster appearing in the Weatherfield police station and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) referencing a bridezilla in Manchester, likely a nod to Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).
