Daily Star TV’s Mike Ward points out that whenever the celebrities argue, it’s always over the tiniest things, like the toilet or washing up.
It’s never the big issues, is it? Whenever campmates argue on I’m A Celebrity — and it happens even to the friendliest of contestants — it’s always over something so trivial it’s hilarious.
The state of the toilet. Stealing sweets. Sneaking in butter.
Or, as happened last night, the washing up.
This is exactly why our soaps have been losing viewers. The creators of Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and the like assume we only want doom, disaster, murder, misery, and mayhem — endless hours of prime-time drama.
But let’s be honest, those aren’t the things we usually get worked up about in real life. If Corrie wants to feel more relatable and win back millions of viewers, it should cast Ginge as the Rovers’ fiery dishwasher, losing his temper with punters for eating their hotpot out of their pint glasses and creating even more work for himself.

Of course, that’s highly unlikely to happen. Once this series wraps up, Ginge will be facing far more glamorous opportunities — my guess is he’ll be taking over Roy’s Rolls.
Meanwhile, Ruby was visibly disappointed with her five-star haul in the trial. “I really feel like I’ve let everyone down,” she sighed upon returning to camp.
Her fellow campmates disagreed, doing everything they could to lift her spirits.
“If you’d come back with just one,” Lisa reassured her kindly, “we still wouldn’t have minded.”
Yeah, exactly.
