General Hospital Spoilers: Is Britt Still Hurt Over Jason Choosing Carly, or Is She Just Protecting Him?
General Hospital spoilers suggest that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) might be drowning in her sorrows, but Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been keeping a watchful eye—and she doesn’t seem to mind.
Britt’s usual tough exterior softens a bit when she’s had a drink, yet she’s determined to hold Jason’s attention, even if it means pushing him away whenever he gets close.
Of course, no one expected Jason to take advantage while she’s intoxicated. If these two are going to reconnect, it will need a more solid foundation than Britt stumbling drunk into his lap.
But her condition seems to be worsening in front of him, and whether that’s due to alcohol or something more serious, Jason is clearly concerned.
Is Britt really distancing herself because of Jason choosing Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in the past, or is she protecting both herself and Jason, knowing her time might be limited?
The Last Time Was the Last Time
When they last fell for each other, it was intense. Jason was there for Britt at every turn, and for the first time, she felt at ease with herself. She wanted to be the kind of woman worthy of a man like Jason.
But he ultimately disappointed her by choosing Carly. When Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was believed dead, Jason felt he had to marry Carly to protect her and the family.
Still, it was more than obligation—he clearly loved Carly, and that was too much for Britt to handle.
Britt’s Condition Could Worsen Quickly
Add the pain of their past to her current struggle with Huntington’s disease, which she only keeps in check thanks to Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) medication, and it’s a dangerous combination.
Britt may dream of the life she could have had with Jason, but her diagnosis changed everything. If Sidwell withholds the medication or loses interest in helping her, her condition could deteriorate fast. She doesn’t see the point in getting close to Jason if it will only lead to heartbreak.
Who’s the Hero?
Jason is used to rescuing people, and Britt is no exception. He knows she’s struggling and suspects trouble is brewing—why else would she be working for Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton (Daniel Goddard) after he already brought her back from that shady lab in Croatia?
GH might flip the story here. While Britt pushes Jason away and blames him, her softer side doesn’t want him hurt—and she doesn’t want to face more pain herself.
She’s the kind of person willing to miss out on loving Jason to avoid losing him, especially knowing her time is limited. That may explain why it takes a few drinks for her to even consider reopening her heart to him.
