Emmerdale’s Dawn Fletcher Stuns Fiancé Joe Tate in Wednesday’s Episode

Emmerdale fans think they’ve uncovered a major pregnancy twist for Dawn Fletcher, one that could leave Joe Tate devastated.

Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that Dawn (Olivia Bromley) began an affair with Joe (Ned Porteous) shortly after his return to the village last year.

Dawn’s daughter, Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison), was the first to discover the secret romance, and eventually Dawn’s husband, Billy (Jay Kontzle), found out as well. Understandably heartbroken, Billy soon moved out of Home Farm to start over.

Despite the ups and downs over the past year, Joe is now living happily with his fiancée and her three children, just weeks after the return of his father figure, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough). But things may be about to take a dramatic turn.

During Wednesday’s episode (February 18), now available to stream on ITVX, Dawn told Joe that she thinks she might be pregnant.

“I haven’t taken a test or anything, and I’m not completely sure, but my period’s late and I’m usually like clockwork. So I just assumed,” she said, as a thrilled Joe replied, “That’s amazing.” He embraced his fiancée, though Dawn didn’t seem quite as happy.

Later, Joe spoke with Graham about his excitement at the prospect of becoming a dad. “Well, this is a surprise,” Graham commented on the possible pregnancy. Joe agreed, particularly given that he’s been on immunosuppressants following his complicated kidney transplant last year.

Joe continued, “It was just a happy mishap… I’m absolutely delighted. I love being a stepdad so much more than I expected, but this is different, you know? This baby would be a Tate, mine.”

Dawn then overheard the conversation and expressed her frustration with Joe for telling Graham before she had even taken a pregnancy test.

“Joe, I don’t even know if I want another child,” Dawn admitted, leaving Joe at a loss for words.

Many Emmerdale fans think a major twist could be coming, with speculation that the baby might not be Joe’s. “I don’t know why, but I’m not convinced that baby is Joe’s,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Another added, “Yeah, I have a feeling a twist is coming for Dawn and Joe. They’ve been too happy lately,” while a third commented, “Hmmm, that would be interesting.”
