Marlon Dingle has spent three decades on Emmerdale, yet fans speculate that his story in the village could be nearing its conclusion.

Fans fear that Emmerdale may be about to say goodbye to beloved character Marlon Dingle.
Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, first appeared on the soap in 1996, making him the show’s second longest-serving character. It didn’t take long for Marlon to become a firm fan favourite.
Throughout his decades in the Dales, chef Marlon has been at the centre of numerous major storylines. From coping with the death of his wife Tricia Dingle (Sheree Murphy) to enduring a life-changing stroke, his time in the village has been packed with drama.
In recent months, the tension has escalated, particularly involving his daughter April Dingle (Amelia Flanagan), who became trapped in the dangerous world of crime, child exploitation, and drugs after being groomed by the villainous Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).

Even though the drama with Ray and Celia has ended, Marlon faced another shock when Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) unexpectedly returned from the dead. Fans may remember that in 2020, Graham was believed to have been killed by Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather).
However, the massive “Corriedale” crossover episode that aired in January this year revealed that Graham had actually survived and had been living in secret for several years.
Since his return to the village, Graham has stirred up plenty of trouble, particularly for Marlon. This week, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) encouraged Graham to try and reconcile with his ex, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who is now married to Marlon.

Following Joe’s advice, Graham Foster arrived at Smithy Cottage and professed his love for Rhona Goskirk, catching her completely off guard. Marlon soon discovered what happened, and in Friday’s episode (February 20), an enraged Marlon Dingle stormed over to Home Farm to confront Graham, insisting that Rhona “is not interested” before yelling “keep away” directly at him.
Now, fans are speculating that a deadly twist could be on the horizon for Marlon. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers suggested that Graham might go as far as killing Marlon.
One person wrote: “Rhona run off with Graham please!” Another wondered: “Graham to kill Marlon to get Rhona back?” A third added: “Totally agree!” while another commented: “Maybe, I want Graham to take him on.” A fifth fan said: “Graham is not to be messed with.”

Reflecting on Graham Foster’s surprise return to Emmerdale, Andrew Scarborough admitted: “I never expected it at all. That said, I did always think Graham had a chance of coming back.”
On keeping his comeback under wraps, the 52-year-old actor revealed: “Oh yes, it was a big secret, and I mostly kept it from my family, which was tricky.”
He also shared who he had confided in, saying: “Yes, just a very limited few. In fact, some of my cousins reached out after it aired, saying, ‘You sod!’”
