Georgia Taylor is a true cobbles favourite thanks to her role as Toyah Habeeb — but what do we know about the actress’s life away from the cameras, particularly her love life?
Georgia rose to prominence when she joined Coronation Street in 1997, arriving in Weatherfield as Toyah alongside the unforgettable Battersby family, including sister Leanne, played by Jane Danson.
Over the years, Toyah has been at the centre of some of the soap’s most powerful storylines — from her traumatic rape ordeal in 2001 to her emotional struggle with infertility following IVF. Life in Weatherfield has certainly never been quiet for her.
Her relationships have also frequently made headlines among viewers. Toyah has romanced characters including Peter Barlow (played by Chris Gascoyne), Imran Habeeb (portrayed by Charlie De Melo) and her current partner Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price).

Georgia’s long-term romance with co-star
Georgia Taylor was previously in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Mark Letheren.
Mark is known for playing journalist Simon Kitson in The Bill and counsellor Ben Harding in Casualty. He also had a recurring role as DS Kevin Geoffries in Wire in the Blood.
It was while Mark was working on Casualty in 2008 that sparks flew between him and Georgia. Reflecting on how they met, Georgia previously told Lorraine:
“We met — he was a semi-regular character, playing a counsellor ironically, which is what Toyah later ended up doing. We met, gosh, 13 years ago. So yes, I got him out of the job and away from lots of friends, and it was a really good time.”
The actress also joked about their commitment, saying: “We’re actually not married, but we practically are because we’ve been together so long.”
Georgia’s ex says ‘my life fell apart’
However, in 2023 it was reported that Georgia and Mark had ended their relationship. According to reports, the former couple had “moved out” of the Bristol home they once shared, as claimed by The Sun.
A source told the newspaper: “The split was in July 2022 and they have both moved out of the home they shared.”
Mark later appeared to reference the breakup in a New Year’s Day social media post, describing 2022 as “the worst year.” He wrote: “It’s been the worst year after a number of increasingly s**t years.
“My life finally fell apart. Thankfully, I’m incredibly lucky and have a family who have picked up the pieces and are helping me rebuild. It’s thanks to them I’m still here and trying to move forward. For that I am truly grateful. Whatever the new year brings, I hope strength, humility, joy and love are in abundance for you all.”
Georgia’s romance with Coronation Street star
In July 2023, after months of speculation, Georgia Taylor confirmed she was in a relationship with Charlie De Melo, her Coronation Street co-star best known for playing Imran Habeeb.
Charlie shared a series of photos of the couple at a Blur concert at London’s Wembley Arena. The pair — who also played on-screen love interests — frequently travelled together, posting snaps from trips to places such as Edinburgh and Sorrento, Italy.
In 2024, Georgia opened up about their relationship, describing it as “extraordinary” and reflecting on how the soap has influenced both her career and personal life. She said: “Going away and coming back, meeting Charlie, being reunited with Jane [Danson] at work, and now being back up north near my family — I just feel incredibly lucky and thankful for the people that the show has brought into my life.”
Charlie and Georgia’s split
However, at the beginning of 2025, it was revealed that Georgia Taylor and Charlie De Melo had decided to end their romantic relationship, though they continue to remain close friends. The pair spent Christmas apart, with Georgia celebrating alongside friends and fellow co-stars.
An insider told The Sun: “Georgia and Charlie are no longer a couple, but they remain friends who care about each other deeply.
“They share many happy memories, but both are currently very focused on work and looking ahead to the future. There are no hard feelings between them.”
