Emmerdale favourite Bradley Riches has revealed plans for his future on the soap and hinted at major storylines for his character.
Bradley Riches has shared that he hopes to remain on Emmerdale for as long as he can.
The actor says he thoroughly enjoys playing Lewis Barton on the ITV soap.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Bradley said: “I’m very focused on the present. At the moment, I feel truly fulfilled and happy.”
“I’ll stay until they write me out! I’ll go wherever the story takes me!”
Bradley has some major storylines on the horizon.
Fans can expect Lewis to be at the heart of plenty of drama in the coming months.
Speaking at Attitude magazine’s 101 event, sponsored by Bentley, he revealed: “There are lots of twists and turns ahead.
“I might even have a bit of romance in my storyline. Maybe Lewis finds a boyfriend… that’s next for him!
“There are also significant family moments coming up. My character hasn’t met his mum or dad, but he starts to form bonds. So he’ll experience some platonic love as well.”
Bradley is delighted to be on such a high-profile show, as it gives him the platform to raise awareness about issues that matter deeply to him.
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant is both gay and autistic.
Playing Lewis allows him to educate viewers about these communities.
Bradley said: “It’s incredible to represent the communities I belong to on Emmerdale.
“Being a voice for both the neurodivergent and queer communities is fantastic.
“Positive representation is so important. Lewis is just a happy-go-lucky character, which makes him really fun to play.”
“The great thing about my character is that he’s simply a person trying to figure out life. It’s really important for viewers to see that.”
Before joining Emmerdale, Bradley played James McEwan on the Netflix hit Heartstopper.
He has also appeared in Wreck, 1917, and Goodnight Mister Tom.
