“Dani Dyer’s mum, Joanne Mas, has revealed the true reason for her daughter’s name – and it isn’t connected to her husband, Danny Dyer.”

“Dani Dyer’s mum, Joanne Mas, has shared the true reason behind her daughter’s name, confirming it isn’t linked to her well-known dad, Danny Dyer.”
For years, many fans assumed Dani was named after her dad, Danny, but Joanne, who first met her now-husband Danny when they were both 14, has revealed the name has nothing to do with him.
During a 2023 episode of Dani and Danny’s Live and Let Dyers podcast, Dani read out a listener question: “Why did you name Dani after Danny?”
Joanne responded: “I didn’t! I named you after Dani, the West Ham footballer. There was a West Ham player called Dani, and that’s why your name is spelled D-A-N-I,” referring to footballer Daniel da Cruz Carvalho.
In a twist of fate, Dani is now married to West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, reports the Mirror.

Reacting in the comments, one fan wrote: “The fact that she named her after a West Ham footballer and now she’s with a West Ham footballer.”
Another account added: “More mummy on the podcast please, you’re brilliant Jo x,” while a different fan said, “I used to love Dani, remember going to the training ground to see him,” and yet another commented, “Your mum is a legend for this.”
The revelations come as Dani recently spoke about the heartfelt letter she wrote to her dad Danny during his previous rehab stint on their new show, The Dyers’ Caravan Park.
The Sky programme follows 48-year-old Danny, who loves caravanning, as he works to revive the Great British holiday by restoring Priory Hill in Leysdown, Kent.
Danny and Dani share a very close bond, having worked together on several projects, including True Love or True Lies, their popular podcast Sorted with the Dyers, and the travel series Absolutely Dyer: Danny and Dani do Italy.

Speaking openly on the show, Dani reflects on her close bond with her father, Danny, and discusses his previous time in rehabilitation.
At that time, Danny was starring as Mick Carter on EastEnders, a role he played from 2013 to 2022, before entering rehab in Cape Town in 2016 after admitting he was “slowly killing himself” and often being “off his head.”
Danny has told the BBC that receiving a letter from Dani while in rehab in 2016 was what motivated him to continue with his treatment. The father-of-three, who first met his wife Jo at age 14, went on to transform his life through rehab, therapy, and meditation.

Talking about her father’s journey on The Dyers’ Caravan Park, Dani said: “You know when your brain just refuses to remember certain things? Like, it completely blocks them out?”
“Dad went to rehab a couple of times. I remember the first time, I didn’t really recall him going initially, so I wrote him a letter.
“Even now, I can’t remember exactly what I wrote. Everything felt like a bubble back then, so intense and overwhelming.
“I knew he had gone, but I understood there was a reason. If he hadn’t gone, who knows where he’d be now.”
