General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Evan Hofer (ex-Dex Heller) is heading back to ABC in an exciting new primetime role. While GH fans have missed Dex ever since the character was killed off in December 2024, the good news is that viewers won’t have to wait long to see the talented actor back on their screens.
Evan Hofer Scores a New Gig
Evan Hofer recently teased his upcoming appearance on Instagram, confirming that he’ll guest star on 9-1-1: Nashville. Fans can catch him on Thursday, February 26.
This guest role officially marks Hofer’s ABC return following his exit from General Hospital, and the news sparked plenty of excitement from his former co-stars.
Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson) enthusiastically commented, “IM WATCHING FOR E!!” Meanwhile, Michael Easton (ex-Hamilton Finn) also promised to tune in to support his former castmate.
Jacqueline Grace Lopez (ex-Allison Rogers) joked about checking her schedule first — but it’s safe to assume she’ll be watching along with the rest of us!
A Double Treat for Daytime Fans
Hofer’s episode of 9-1-1: Nashville will air Thursday at 9:00 p.m. — and there’s even more reason for soap fans to tune in.
The episode also features former The Young and the Restless star Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman) in a guest appearance. With both actors sharing the screen, it’s shaping up to be a must-watch night for daytime viewers.
Could Dex Ever Return to Port Charles?
Of course, GH viewers know that death doesn’t always stick in Port Charles. The show has famously revived characters before — so could Evan Hofer ever reprise his role as Dex?
There’s currently no indication that Hofer or the soap is planning such a move. Still, fans can’t help but wonder, especially given how hard Dex’s death hit Josslyn Jacks.
Dex’s passing deeply affected Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and helped motivate her decision to join the WSB. She explained that Dex wanted to make a difference in the world — and she believes continuing that mission would honor him.
After all, characters like Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) have defied death before. In Port Charles, anything is possible.
