Corrie’s Eva Price actress shares a new behind-the-scenes photo ahead of her Weatherfield comeback
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has shared a real-life connection with a co-star as she prepares to return.
The 42-year-old actress is reprising her role as Eva Price on the ITV soap and is currently filming scenes, though she has not yet appeared on-screen.
Eva originally arrived in 2011 and last featured on the Cobbles in 2018, but she is making a comeback as the new landlady of The Rovers Return—and she won’t be alone.
The pub is now run alongside her partner, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), and his mother, Maggie (Pauline McLynn).
Ahead of her highly anticipated return, Catherine shared a behind-the-scenes photo with James Cartwright, who plays Theo Silverton.
The two may be pictured on the pub set in character as Eva and Theo, but this isn’t the first time the soap stars have known each other.
Catherine has shared that she has a long-standing friendship with James, which started when they met as teenagers.
Alongside the heartfelt photo, Catherine wrote: “This one! We first met at theatre school when we were 13! And now we’re both in Weatherfield!”
“Lovely to be back with my old friend James. An amazing man and an incredible actor! Ooooooh Theo—you naughty villain!!!”
Coronation Street fans were quick to react to the photo, with one commenting: “Brilliant actor, he has me and my daughter shouting at the TV, hahaha. Oi, Theo, leave our Todd alone, lol. ‘Nasty villain award’ well deserved for James next time. Can’t wait to see you on our screens again, Catherine—hope it’s soon, gorgeous lady.”
Another fan wrote: “Big fan of his dad. Brilliant playwright. This guy seems like a really nice person. From The Archers to The Rovers. Wishing him all the best.”
A third added: “Lovely photo, love them both xxxxxxxxx,” while another commented: “Can’t wait for your return, we’ve missed you.”
Catherine’s exact comeback date hasn’t been revealed by Coronation Street producers yet. However, it looks like she will cross paths with Theo, who has been inflicting terrible domestic abuse on Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
