Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has received support from her family throughout the BBC dance show.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones shared that her “heart is full” as she reflected on a “special” week spent with her family.
The 36-year-old professional dancer is currently competing on the BBC hit show alongside Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope. The duo returned to the dance floor for the second live show on Saturday night (October 4), performing a Viennese Waltz to Lose Control by Teddy Swims.
They earned a score of 27 from the judges, placing them second on the overall leaderboard. The week was particularly meaningful for Katya, as her father and niece were in the studio cheering them on, according to Wales Online.
Outside of the studio, Katya also managed to enjoy some valuable family time, describing the week as “jam-packed” with activities.
In a detailed post, the dancer shared: “Last week was extra special. I got to welcome my niece (and my dad, though he comes every year) and host her here in London. I wanted to make it truly memorable for her and create magical moments she’ll never forget.”
Giving her followers a peek into their time together, she added: “Besides exploring London while I was working during the day, we had a jam-packed week.
“It began with the Lady Gaga concert at @theo2london. Honestly, seeing her jump with joy and sing along to every single lyric made my heart so happy. She looked at me and said — one day, I want to be performing on that stage.”
Looking back on her recent performance on the Strictly Come Dancing stage last weekend, she added: “On Saturday night, she saw Lewis and me perform in the Strictly Studio, met my friends, and got a first-hand look at what I do for a living. I hope this experience will inspire her.”
“We danced nonstop and sang our hearts out at the ABBA Voyage on Sunday, she cooked for me, I took her shopping, and we talked about teenage dramas while swapping clothes.
“Our farewell meal at @luckycatbygordonramsay was the perfect way to end her trip — stunning 360-degree views of London, amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere!”
The Strictly professional added: “My heart is full, and I’m so grateful I could give her these experiences. I’m also incredibly proud of the remarkable young woman she’s becoming — smart, kind, confident, and charming. Be happy, my dear girl. I’ve got your back. Always.”
