Coronation Street: Brian confronts Trisha over Tim’s grooming

Coronation Street fans think they have “figured out” the next twist in the ongoing historic grooming storyline. New character Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth) was recently revealed to be the woman Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) lost his virginity to when he was just 14 and she was in her 20s. While Tim has been pleased to see her again, his friend Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) has been trying to make him see that he was groomed by the older woman.
In Friday’s episode (October 10), Brian confronted Trisha at Roy’s Rolls, and she reacted angrily to his accusations. Viewers now speculate that Brian may take matters into his own hands and report her to the police, bypassing Tim entirely. On X, one fan wrote: “I reckon Brian is going to report Trish to the police.” Another added: “Bet Brian reports Trisha to the old bill.”
“Judgy Brian isn’t a great vibe, but I don’t think he’s wrong this time…” a third fan commented. Another added: “Brian has Trisha completely figured out. Tim should stay away from her and remain loyal to Sally.”
Some viewers were surprised by the location of the confrontation. “Brian is right, but maybe Roy’s Rolls isn’t the place for this—have the conversation in the ginnel like everyone else,” one wrote.
Brian seized the moment to confront Trisha when she arrived at the café and asked if he had seen Tim. When he replied, ‘no,’ she asked him to let Tim know she was looking for him, which prompted Brian to lose his temper.
“Should I let Sally know too? His wife might not be too happy to hear you’ve been snooping around after him!” he exclaimed.
“‘Snooping around’?” she replied indignantly. “I was just passing by and thought I’d say hello to an old friend. There’s no law against that, is there?”
“There is, when it comes to grooming,” he shot back.
“Sorry, you must be confusing me with someone else,” she spat.
“I know,” Brian said firmly. “Tim told me everything about how you abused him,” leaving Trisha looking shocked and defensive.
