“The funeral of Ricky Hatton was held on Friday, 10 October, featuring a procession through Manchester as mourners, including his famous friends, honored the boxing legend.”

A Coronation Street actor appeared to be turned away from Ricky Hatton’s funeral.
Former ITV star Steven Arnold attended the funeral on Friday, 10 October, as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the boxing legend. The service was held at Manchester Cathedral, with numerous celebrities from television, music, and sport in attendance.
Hatton, who was found dead at his home last month at the age of 46, was one of Britain’s most celebrated boxers. A procession through Manchester took place in his honor, followed by a ceremony at the cathedral to celebrate his life.
After the service, attendees visited the Etihad Stadium, home to Hatton’s beloved Manchester City, according to the Express. Security personnel were stationed at the cathedral entrance to check guests as they arrived for the service.

Footage aired on Sky News appeared to show former Coronation Street star Steven Arnold, who played Ashley Peacock, being stopped at the entrance while speaking with several security staff who seemed to be checking a guest list.
It is unclear whether he was eventually allowed in, but viewers took to social media to speculate. “Did we just see Ashley from Coronation Street get turned away from the funeral on Sky News?” one user posted on X/Twitter. Another replied, “That’s definitely what happened, wasn’t it?”

Arnold is best remembered for his 15-year run on Coronation Street from 1995 to 2010.
Among those attending Hatton’s funeral were former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. Several boxing legends, including Tyson Fury, Barry McGuigan, and Amir Khan, were also present to pay their respects.

During the funeral, Amir Khan said: “He was an incredible fighter, one of the very best. He inspired so many of us in the sport. He will certainly be remembered as one of Britain’s greatest. Very cheerful, fun-loving, deeply respected, and genuinely kind. He was always a champion of the people.”
“It’s wonderful to be here and see so much of the boxing community come together to pay their respects. The hundreds lining the streets show just how beloved he was,” Khan added.
