Isobel Steele portrayed Liv Dingle on the ITV soap from 2016 until the character was tragically killed during the show’s 50th anniversary special.
Emmerdale has revisited Liv Dingle’s death as Aaron Dingle marks three years since her on-screen passing.
Longtime fans of the ITV soap will remember Liv as Aaron’s (Danny Miller) beloved younger sister, who, alongside ex-husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), created a close-knit family during their marriage.
Liv was also married to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), and her storylines included struggles with alcoholism and brushes with the law. In 2022, tragedy struck in the show’s 50th anniversary special when a violent storm caused a caravan to collapse onto Liv, killing her.
In Wednesday’s (October 15) episode, Aaron and Robert spent their first night back together, though Aaron seemed preoccupied with something on his mind.
The couple discussed whether to tell the village they were back together before Robert noticed a teddy bear in Aaron’s living room.
“It’s Liv’s… well, it was,” Aaron explained. “She would never sleep without it.”
Aaron also mentioned that Liv’s death anniversary falls on Thursday, and Robert suggested they go out for a drink to honour the somber occasion.
Isobel Steele, who brought Liv Dingle to life, left the show in 2022 after six years. Reflecting on her exit, she shared her heartfelt thoughts at the time: “And that’s a wrap on Liv Dingle. It’s hard to put into words what this show and the people in it mean to me, and how huge a decision it was to leave.”
“Thank you to everyone I’ve ever worked with, and to those who challenged me to grow as a person and as an actor.
“Thank you to all the viewers who have watched the show and supported me along the way — none of it went unnoticed. Special thanks to Kate Oates, Ian MacLeod, and Jane Hudson.”
She concluded her message by saying goodbye to this chapter of her life: “I love you all so much, you know who you are. What a strange and wonderful place to have grown up. I’m going to miss it dearly. On to the next adventure! X.”
Now 24, Isobel Steele has embarked on a new path in the music industry. Earlier this year, she debuted a chic new hairstyle, swapping her long hair for a shorter cut with a fashionable fringe.
According to her Instagram, the Manchester-born star still identifies as an actress but seems focused on developing her musical career in London.
