“The Strictly Come Dancing star admitted she nearly gave up.
Balvinder Sopal, the EastEnders actress, revealed she broke down in tears during a particularly tough training session on the BBC show. Partnered with newcomer professional Julian Caillon, she has faced multiple dance-offs.
Reflecting on their performance last weekend — a Rumba to Stay by Shakespears Sister — Balvinder told It Takes Two presenter Fleur East: ‘The rumba was the hardest thing to learn.
‘On Tuesday, I literally threw in the towel and said, “I can’t do it,” then sat in a corner and cried.
“Jules was there and said, “When you’re ready, bro… we’ve got to get this done,”’ according to Wales Online.”
“Talking about the judges’ feedback, she added: ‘I’m trying to make sense of it because part of me thinks that if you can see improvement, that should earn a slightly better score than last week.
‘So I’m not really sure where the judges are coming from or what exactly they’re looking for.
‘At this stage, I’m a bit confused, so I’m just going to go out there and dance with everything I’ve got, because that’s the only thing I can control. There’s nothing else I can do.'”
“Balvinder and Julian faced off against Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola in the dance-off on Sunday evening.
After the results show, Balvinder shared on Instagram: ‘Our Rumba will always be my favourite dance, and these photos capture it perfectly.
‘We made it to week 7 — a win in my eyes! Each week, we’ll continue to give it everything we’ve got, dancing with all our hearts because the music is in our bones and the love is in our hearts, and that’s what truly matters. There’s a lot of noise around, but we’ll just keep being ourselves.'”
