Coronation Street recently featured Eva Price and the Driscoll family assuming control of the Rovers Return Inn.

Coronation Street’s Jodie Prenger has dropped hints about what’s next for her character, Glenda Shuttleworth, on the cobbles.
Fans will remember that Eva Price recently made her comeback to Weatherfield, where her partner Ben Driscoll surprised her by purchasing the Rovers Return Inn so she could step into the role of landlady.
However, it was later uncovered that Ben’s meddling mother, Maggie Driscoll, had contributed to the purchase and is now co-owner of the famous pub — much to Eva’s frustration.
These latest twists have left Glenda, who had been managing the Rovers, feeling uncertain and concerned about her place in the iconic establishment.
Speaking exclusively to Reach PLC at a recent Coronation Street event, Jodie, 46, opened up about what could lie ahead for Glenda’s future.

When asked about possible tension between Glenda and Eva, Jodie said: “Friction between them? No, not really. It’s more about uncertainty — Glenda just doesn’t know what’s coming next. Honestly, both Glenda and, if I’m being truthful, a bit of me too, absolutely love being at the Rovers.”
She went on to add: “It’s really the not knowing what’s going to happen with her job that worries her. I just hope she gets to stay because, if I’m honest, that’s what I want too!
“It’s such a great place to be — you get to see everyone coming in, have their moments, pour them a pint, and put the world to rights!”
Elsewhere, Jodie shared that Glenda will remain fiercely protective of her newly single brother, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), as he starts to grow closer to Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins).

Jodie joked: “Oh, she’s definitely protective — she’d slap Christina silly if she ever hurt her George!” She added with a laugh: “It’s a shame really because I absolutely adore Amy Robbins, she’s brilliant and so funny!”
Speaking about Glenda’s relationship with Christina, Jodie continued: “Glenda hasn’t exactly warmed up to her just yet… I’m hoping she softens eventually.”
As for Glenda’s own romantic prospects, Jodie confessed she’d love to see her character find love one day but added: “She’d probably end up getting her heart broken — she’s a bit too trusting for her own good. But honestly, she’d be just as happy with a fella… or even a dog!”
