Singer HRVY has revealed his breakup with former Emmerdale actress Mimi Slinger after four years together, suggesting a recent Vogue article contributed to their split.
Pop star HRVY has confirmed he’s single after ending his relationship with Emmerdale actress Mimi Slinger.
The 26-year-old singer, who reached the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2020 with pro dancer Janette Manrara, has reportedly called it quits with Mimi after four years together.
Mimi, best known for playing Leanna Cavanagh on the ITV soap until her character’s tragic death in 2021, dated HRVY throughout much of her acting rise.
The singer — real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell — appeared to confirm the split on TikTok in his signature cryptic style, sharing a short clip of himself nodding and giving a thumbs up with the caption: “I’m now single… I blame that Vogue article.”
The Vogue piece he referenced, titled Is Having A Boyfriend Embarrassing Now?, was published last month and discussed changing attitudes toward public relationships.
Representatives for both HRVY and Mimi have been contacted for comment.
The couple began dating in 2021 after meeting at the National Television Awards.
HRVY previously opened up about how their mutual careers in entertainment helped their relationship thrive. He told The Sun: “We get to see each other all the time. It’s a good balance, and because we’re both in the industry, we understand each other — it just works.”
HRVY first rose to fame at just 14 with his debut single Thank You in 2013. Since then, he’s toured with major acts like Little Mix and Conor Maynard and made appearances on several CBBC shows, including Friday Download and Chicken Girls.
In 2020, HRVY competed on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside Janette Manrara, reaching the final and finishing in second place behind winners Oti Mabuse and Bill Bailey.
He was Janette’s final celebrity partner before she left the show to host the Strictly spin-off, It Takes Two.
Actress Mimi Slinger, 22, joined Emmerdale in 2018 as Leanna Cavanagh and departed in 2021. Since leaving the soap, she has appeared in the short film Path to Ecstasy and featured in an episode of Masters of the Air.
During her time on Emmerdale, Leanna was at the center of dramatic storylines, including a turbulent romance with Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and frequent clashes with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham). Her character’s story came to a shocking conclusion when she was killed by serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
