Emmerdale star Joshua Richards, who plays Bear Wolf, stunned fans with a 1990s throwback photo.
Emmerdale fans have been swooning over a 26-year-old throwback photo of Joshua Richards, who plays Bear Wolf.
Richards joined the ITV soap in 2019, appearing as Bear, the estranged father of Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), and quickly became embroiled in drama.
The former wrestler, known for his good-hearted nature, has been involved in several major storylines during his time on the show. In July, however, Bear left the village for Ireland following a falling-out with Paddy.
At the time, Paddy grew concerned over Bear’s odd behaviour, fearing he might be showing signs of dementia. After a heated confrontation and another clash with his son, Bear departed the Dales, explaining he was visiting a friend in Ireland.
Since then, Paddy has assumed that his estranged father is safe with friends in Ireland. However, in Friday’s episode (November 7), it was revealed that Bear never actually made it across the Irish Sea.
In the episode, Paddy received a package and a letter from the friend Bear was meant to visit. After making a few phone calls, he discovered that Bear had not gone to Ireland at all.
A worried Paddy attempted to contact Bear, but his father didn’t answer his calls. Fearing something had gone wrong, Paddy contacted the police to try to discover what had happened.
Although Emmerdale is Joshua Richards’ first soap opera role, it’s far from his first acting job. The talented actor began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company before moving on to several roles in Hollywood productions.
Before joining Emmerdale, Joshua Richards appeared opposite Brad Pitt in 2004’s Troy and starred alongside Hugh Grant in the Amazon Prime series A Very English Scandal.
However, it’s his role on the popular 1990s TV show Heartbeat that has caught fans’ attention. Joshua played DI Haggarty on the ITV series for several months in 1999.
Fans couldn’t get over Joshua’s appearance on Heartbeat. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person commented, “He looks really handsome here!” Another added, “I thought the same.” A third remarked, “Doesn’t even look like the same man.”
