“EastEnders saw the departure of two beloved cast members, but viewers were left frustrated by one particular detail.”
EastEnders has said goodbye to two much-loved Walford residents, Freddie Slater and Anna Knight, played by Bobby Brazier and Molly Rainford, respectively. However, one detail has left some fans feeling disappointed.
The characters departed Albert Square in the episode that aired on Tuesday (December 2). Freddie, who joined the Slater family in 2022 as Little Mo’s (Kacey Ainsworth) son, initially believed Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was his biological father.
During his time in Walford, Freddie struggled with the shocking truth that his real father, Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney), had raped his mother, leading to his conception. He also navigated an ADHD diagnosis, helped rescue his second cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) from her stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis), and became entangled in a love triangle involving his best friend Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford).

In a romantic turn of events, encouraged by Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), Freddie and Anna chose to reignite their relationship and leave Walford to travel the world together, starting with Australia.
Anna, who arrived in Walford in June 2023 as Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) long-lost daughter, also said her goodbyes. As their loved ones gathered on the street to wave them off, the couple made their way to the Tube Station, reports OK!.
However, EastEnders fans were disappointed that Little Mo didn’t return to see her son Freddie off before he began his backpacking adventure.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Three years of Freddie and no Little Mo cameo #EastEnders.”
Another commented: “After three years of Freddie, they couldn’t bring Little Mo back for even one scene at the end #EastEnders.”
A third added: “Freddie Slater was on #EastEnders for three years and we never once saw his mother, Little Mo. What a wasted opportunity!”
Someone else responded: “This still surprises me – I thought Kacey Ainsworth would have done a one-off appearance at least.”
Little Mo is one of the original Slater sisters, alongside her sibling Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), the current landlady of the Queen Vic.

Little Mo made her first appearance in 2000 but left in 2006 after her husband, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), admitted he couldn’t bring himself to raise Freddie, knowing he wasn’t his biological son.
Actress Kacey Ainsworth, who played Little Mo, decided to leave the role to explore other acting opportunities.
Since then, she has appeared in The Bill, A Touch of Frost, Casualty, Grantchester, and a variety of other television shows.
