Coronation Street has been showing increasingly troubling scenes between Todd Grimshaw and Theo Silverton
Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve figured out Theo Silverton’s next move.
Recently, Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, has been trapped in an abusive and controlling relationship with his new partner, Theo, played by James Cartwright.
On Monday’s episode, Theo forced Todd to train for a half marathon, pushing him to keep running despite struggling.
Later in the week, things worsen when Theo brings out a full-length mirror, telling Todd he can now monitor his physique every day.
When James Bailey casually flirts with Todd and later drops off some fitness gear, a jealous and irritated Theo accuses Todd of having feelings for James before unleashing his anger.
Spoilers for next week show the consequences of Theo’s controlling behavior as he forces Todd to stay hidden in the flat for several days to prevent anyone from seeing his injuries. This leaves Todd’s loved ones worried about his sudden “disappearance.”
Soap fans will remember that throughout their relationship, Theo has been extremely jealous of Todd’s best friend and ex, Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank.
Daniel, 45, announced earlier this year that he would be leaving the cobbles after 11 years as Billy. Now, viewers speculate that Theo might go as far as killing Billy out of jealousy — and possibly framing Todd in the process.
On social media, one fan commented: “Does anyone else think Theo will kill Billy and frame Todd, giving us another innocent person in prison storyline?”
Another account replied: “Nothing would surprise me with Theo — he’s capable of anything. You could be right, but I really hope not.”
One more added: “I think Theo kills Billy, but I’m not sure about Todd being blamed,” while another wrote: “Yes, Theo kills Billy, but not sure if he’ll blame Todd.”
Another soap fan shared: “I was thinking the same, Corrie always puts innocent people in prison,” while a different viewer added: “That was my first thought.” Another commented: “I hope not — Todd’s been through enough.”
Meanwhile, a separate viewer offered a completely different theory: “The other way around — Billy will kill Theo and confess, going to jail, leaving the door open for his return if the show continues. He won’t stay in prison long; the jury will see how horrible Theo was, and all the people he abused will testify.”
It remains to be seen what will happen next, but viewers are hoping Todd stays safe while Theo finally gets his comeuppance.
