Brooke Vincent has spoken about the possibility of reprising her role as Sophie Webster on Coronation Street after taking a long break from the soap.
Brooke Vincent has hinted at a possible Coronation Street return in the near future.
Her character, Sophie Webster, was last seen on the Weatherfield cobbles in 2019, before Brooke took maternity leave—15 years after first joining the soap.
Rather than taking a “typical” maternity break, the actress chose to step away from the show for an extended period.
Now, with her two children growing up, the 33-year-old star has revealed she’d be open to returning to the long-running series if the producers reached out.
During her final appearance, viewers watched Sophie leave Weatherfield after receiving an inheritance from her Aunty Vi, heading off in a taxi bound for the airport to start her travels. But that storyline could soon take a new turn.

“I feel like Corrie is home for me,” the Audenshaw-born star told The Mirror. “If they ever asked me to go back, I’d love to. It’s a different kind of job now that we’ve got the boys. I’ve got so many friends there — it’s like family.”
She continued: “It’s such a lovely place to work. I’ve had a long enough break to really enjoy time with my children, without the demanding schedule that can come with the job.
“Now that they’re a bit older and more independent, there’s definitely the chance for me to take on more work.” (The Mirror reports.)

“It’s the adult conversation, the routine — it’s always been such a wonderful place for me to work,” she said. “I’ve gone on to work in different environments with different people, but Corrie is such a huge part of who I am, and I feel incredibly lucky to have that.”
During her time away from the soap, Brooke has explored a variety of projects, from hosting on Hits Radio to joining the touring stage production of Kay Mellor’s The Syndicate, where she performed alongside Max George and Gaynor Faye.
She shared: “It was amazing! I absolutely loved the play and had such a great time. Being part of a Kay Mellor production felt so special, and I was lucky to work with Gaynor and Kay’s grandson, Ollie.”

“It was such a family production, and we really embraced our roles in it,” she said. “It was tough at times, being away for work — managing school uniforms, hobbies, and figuring out what the kids needed — there’s a lot that goes into being a parent.
“And when you combine that with a demanding job, it can definitely be challenging. But overall, I had an amazing time and absolutely loved the experience.”
