A Coronation Street star has reportedly found love again following a stunning transformation.
Coronation Street favourite Lisa George is said to have found love again after undergoing a striking body transformation and cosmetic surgery.
Lisa, who portrayed Beth Tinker on the long-running ITV soap from 2011 to 2024, decided to have Blepharoplasty surgery earlier this year after years of feeling self-conscious about her appearance.
Now, the 52-year-old actress is reportedly happier than ever and dating financial adviser Martin. Sources told The Sun: “Lisa has never felt or looked better – and her romance with Martin is blossoming. She’s really enjoying life, and although it’s still early days, he’s already been joining her at events.”
The loved-up pair recently made their public debut at an event in Manchester. They appeared together at the Manchester Awards held at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, where Lisa turned heads in a glittering gold dress, according to the Mirror.
Last year, Lisa scheduled a consultation with a top facial surgeon in Manchester as she prepared to bid farewell to the cobbles. At the time, the actress revealed she would often use specific makeup techniques on set to conceal her eyelids.
Grimsby native Lisa has experienced a major health and lifestyle transformation over the past year following surgery and is now finally happy with the person she sees in the mirror. In addition to working toward two history diplomas, Lisa — who competed on Dancing On Ice in 2020 — has also been managing a medical condition that caused partial blindness in one eye and loss of peripheral vision in the other.
After years of searching for answers following her initial sight loss in 2016 and a recurrence in 2022, she was diagnosed with NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy).
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror last month, Lisa explained: “My eyes seem to have stabilised now. I can see long distances perfectly well, but I struggle with reading — all text and numbers are blurry, so I wear glasses for reading, and varifocals for driving so I can see the SatNav clearly.”
“I don’t like driving at night because of my blind spots — though that might just come with age!” Lisa admitted. “When we were filming Coronation Street scenes in the dark, I’d always ask to stand on the inside of the pavement since I couldn’t clearly see the edge of the kerb.”
Realising it was time to address her concerns, Lisa spent a year mustering the courage to undergo an £8,000 operation, aware of the potential risks, including possible blindness. She also confirmed she had been diagnosed with a rare genetic eye condition known as NAION — non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy — which causes sudden vision loss when the optic nerve doesn’t receive enough blood and oxygen.
