Next week, Coronation Street will feature more dramatic scenes with Carla Connor, Lisa Swain, and Becky.
Coronation Street spoilers hint at a shocking new betrayal next week involving Lisa Swain and her estranged wife, Becky.
Viewers will remember that Lisa is currently in a relationship with Carla Connor. However, her world was recently turned upside down when Becky — thought to be dead for four years — suddenly resurfaced.
Becky’s unexpected return has caused turmoil for Carla, Lisa, and Lisa’s daughter, Betsy, who also believed her mother was gone.
In upcoming scenes, DI Costello — who had previously investigated Becky for corruption before her supposed death — is alarmed by her reappearance, knowing it could spell trouble for both him and Becky. He uses his authority to target Betsy.
Kit Green informs Lisa that Betsy has been arrested. During an interview, an officer tells Betsy that, according to DI Costello, she damaged a police car, resisted arrest, and attempted to assault him. Betsy refuses to comment.
Later, Costello meets with Becky and warns her that she must disappear again, or Betsy will face even worse consequences.
Next week, Becky steps up as a hero, showing Lisa a flash drive and reassuring her that Betsy is going to be okay. Fired up, Lisa heads to the police station with CCTV evidence proving that Betsy didn’t damage the police car, confronting DI Costello over her wrongful arrest.
During the confrontation, Costello admits that Becky had tried to contact Lisa multiple times but couldn’t risk it. Later, with Betsy released, Becky takes a call from Costello, who confirms he’s done his part — letting Lisa think it was his fault Becky stayed away — and reminds her it’s now up to her to keep her side of the bargain. He wants Becky gone within a month.
Things take a turn when Roy Cropper arrives at the flat to find Lisa and Becky snuggled together on the sofa. How much has he seen, and will he tell Carla?
Later in the week, an excited Betsy convinces Becky to take her shopping in preparation for their move to Spain. Finding them at home surrounded by shopping bags, with Betsy skipping work, Lisa demands to know what’s happening.
Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks has teased what viewers can expect from Becky’s return. Speaking at a recent Corrie press day, she said:
“So, Becky… she’s a bit of a villain. She’s back, and she knows exactly what she wants. She wants her family, Betsy, and Lisa. She wants to disrupt Carla’s happy home life. We’re watching this story unfold, and gradually we’ll start to reveal Becky’s layers — who she really is and what she’s capable of. On screen so far, we’ve only scratched the surface, but she can do a lot.”
Kate added: “Becky is quite a badass and extremely capable. The audience will soon realise she isn’t the innocent, heroic figure she’s led people to believe. It takes time for the residents of Weatherfield to see what kind of person she truly is. Carla already has some suspicions, and we’ll confirm those pretty quickly. Carla has every right to be cautious around her.”
