Sam starts to suspect something’s wrong
In tonight’s Coronation Street episode (Friday, January 23), the pressure mounted on Megan Walsh as it was revealed she had groomed another teenager. Sharp-eyed Sam Blakeman began to connect the dots.
Lee, a figure from Will’s past, dropped a shocking claim that he had slept with Megan while underage. Will refused to believe him outright, but Sam, always observant, noticed a tense exchange between the two outside — and it was clear that warning signs were flashing.
Megan groomed Will’s rival Lee in Coronation Street
The drama began early on the cobbles as Will prepared for his school race, only to be thrown off by the sudden arrival of his old rival, Lee. The pair exchanged competitive jibes while Sam Blakeman, stuck on first-aid duty, kept a careful watch. When Lee realised Miss Walsh wasn’t around, his disappointment was clear.
That didn’t last long, however, as he later encountered Megan at the Rovers. A brief, awkward chat quickly ended, with Megan steering him down a ginnel for a private conversation.
Lee insisted he was now 16 and that there was no need to hide anymore. Megan dismissed their past as something “special” but firmly over. She claimed she had moved on, was seeing a teacher, and was “in love” — a revelation that clearly hurt Lee.
Later, a shaken Lee finally confided in Will about the real reason he had returned — it wasn’t for the race, but for Megan. He admitted they had slept together when he was underage. Will immediately rejected the claim, but Sam, who had been close enough to observe, took it all in. With suspicions already mounting, it seemed only a matter of time before the truth would come out.
Sam Blakeman moves to expose Megan in Coronation Street spoilers
In next week’s Coronation Street spoilers, Sam’s suspicions continue to grow. When Leanne discovers a stray tracksuit top at the flat, Megan casually claims it belongs to Daniel — but Sam isn’t convinced.
His curiosity deepens when he runs into Will on the Street and casually asks if Lee and Miss Walsh are more than just old rivals. Will laughs it off and quickly leaves, doing nothing to ease Sam’s doubts.
Moments later, Sam is shocked to see the same tracksuit top tucked inside Will’s sports bag. For Sam, it’s far too suspicious to ignore.
Will soon panics and warns Megan that Sam has been asking questions, much to her displeasure. Later, she notices Sam quietly doing his homework in Speed Daal and immediately realises he’s beginning to piece things together.
The situation escalates when Leanne unwittingly invites Sam over for tea, only for him to discover Megan is already there. While Sam may have been trying to act like a detective, he’s now firmly on Megan Walsh’s radar.
