“In recent Coronation Street scenes, Amy Barlow had a playful moment with newly-single Ollie Driscoll, but a major family secret threatens to turn things upside down.”

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve figured out a major romance storyline for Amy Barlow—but it’s set to end in heartbreak.
It has been confirmed that Amy (Ellie Mulvaney) will face the death of her grandfather, Jim McDonald (Charlie Lawson), in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, leaving her dad Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and the rest of the family devastated.
In a shocking twist, Steve is reportedly about to discover that his father had an affair with new Rovers Return owner Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), resulting in the birth of her son Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker).
The Driscoll family arrived in Weatherfield in October after Ben purchased the pub as a surprise for his partner Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), with financial backing from his mother.

The landlord believes that Alan Driscoll—who has never appeared on screen and, as fans know, was killed by Maggie—is his father. However, it is set to be revealed soon that Maggie had an affair with Jim McDonald decades ago, which led to Ben’s arrival.
In recent scenes, Steve has been clashing with his new acquaintance Ben, who is the father of Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike) and Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), meaning the upcoming revelation is likely to send shockwaves through the cobbles.
In Thursday’s (February 26) episode, available on ITVX, Steve was shown waking up hungover in the Rovers’ backroom, while chef Ollie kindly offered to prepare him a cooked breakfast.

Steve’s daughter arrived expecting her dad to take her on their planned shopping trip, but the cabbie insisted he needed to finish his fry-up first.
Later in the episode, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) appeared to end her brief fling with Ollie, who didn’t waste time sharing a flirty moment with Amy when she came into the pub for a drink.
However, Amy is Steve’s daughter and Ollie is Ben’s son, meaning the pair are actually half-cousins. Their potential romance is likely to lead to some “awkward” conversations once the truth comes out.

On X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: “Amy seems interested in Ollie—this could get awkward. #corrie.”
Another user replied: “Yeah, especially now that Amy and Ollie are half-cousins. #CoronationStreet #Corrie @itvcorrie.”
A third commented: “Maggie tried to keep Ollie away from Lauren—let’s see what she makes of a potential Ollie and Amy romance, given the recent revelation that Steve’s dad is also Ben’s dad.”
Fans will have to wait to see if sparks fly between Amy and Ollie before they discover that their fathers are half-brothers.
