What’s happening in Coronation Street tonight?
Tonight, Sam’s inner sleuth springs into action when a mysterious tracksuit top turns up and Megan’s weak explanation fails to convince him. After questioning Will and later spotting the same top stuffed into his sports bag, Sam’s suspicions intensify.
Elsewhere, Summer is left reeling when Kit returns her rucksack with Paul’s ashes untouched, sending her into an alcohol-fuelled wobble at work. Abi warns Jodie about getting too close to Carl, but temptation proves hard to resist. Meanwhile, Alya is irritated when details about the Rovers’ finances are revealed by Leanne.
Soap power hour schedule from January 2026
Coronation Street underwent a significant change back in October 2024, when daily episodes began dropping on ITVX from 7am.
The shift proved hugely successful, with figures from the first quarter of 2025 showing ITVX hit a “record-breaking” one billion streams in a single quarter for the first time. Coronation Street and Emmerdale alone have racked up 124 million streams on the platform so far this year, while overall soap viewing is up 35% compared to the same period in 2024.
More changes are coming, as ITV prepares to introduce a new “soap power hour” from the second week of January 2026.
Under the new timetable, Corrie will no longer air just three nights a week. Instead, it will be broadcast every weekday, Monday to Friday, from 8.30pm to 9pm, with each episode running for 30 minutes. New episodes will continue to be available on ITVX each morning at 7am.
