Danny Dyer took a dig at a TV comedian while hosting an awards show, claiming he wasn’t as funny as his co-star Mo Gilligan.
Danny Dyer has ignited a new TV feud by targeting ITV host Joel Dommett. The EastEnders star mocked the comedian at a high-profile event, calling him unfunny.
He was presenting the ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards at London’s Roundhouse when he introduced Mo Gilligan to the stage. Praising his fellow comic, he said: “I mean, he’s funnier than Joel Dommett, I’ll tell you that now.”
Danny and Joel previously appeared together on The One Show in 2023, and Dyer has also attended the National Television Awards, which Joel hosts. Mo — who has not responded to the comment — serves as a judge on The Masked Singer, also presented by Joel. Joel is currently in Australia hosting I’m A Celebrity? Unmasked.
Danny has been involved in several feuds over the years. He had a spat with reality star Mark Wright at a music festival, has previously criticised I’m A Celebrity star Kelly Brook, and at another time clashed publicly with Lord Sugar.
When The Apprentice boss criticised an EastEnders storyline, Danny fired back: “I do wish you’d pipe down, my lord. You may be very wealthy, but you have the looks, wit, and charm of a slightly comatose tramp…”
In another outburst, he took aim at film critic Mark Kermode, saying: “He’s such a prck. He clearly has an issue with me, though I have no idea what it is. But our paths will cross one day, and there won’t be any talking. It’ll probably be a headbutt straight to the nose, and then he can go off and do his impressions with a broken nose — that’d be good, wouldn’t it?”*
