He’s connected to more than just Vicki and Phil…
⚠️ Warning: The following contains major spoilers for EastEnders today, now available to stream on BBC iPlayer before its broadcast on terrestrial TV. Mark Jr’s return is already sending shockwaves through the Square.
Mark Fowler Jr made his long-awaited entrance in Walford on Friday, January 23, and chaos quickly followed. On Monday, January 26, his return triggers a troubling chain of events, proving he’s not back for a simple family reunion.

EastEnders: Mark’s Lies Unravel
Vicki is thrilled to have her younger brother back in the Square, but Sam and Phil are far more skeptical of his story. They quickly pick up on the fact that Grant’s son is hiding something.
Vicki takes Mark at his word when he claims he’s returned to support her during Joel’s trial this week. She also believes his account that he was attacked by thugs, resulting in his injuries.
The Mitchells, however, aren’t so easily convinced.
Once Vicki leaves, Phil and Sam confront Mark, pressing him for the truth. Reluctantly, Mark admits that he has been working for a drug gang, intimidating and assaulting those who fail to follow orders. He explains that his bosses now suspect him of being a police informant and sent him a violent warning.
Mark reveals he’s been trying to identify the real snitch and believes that person is somewhere in Walford. He warns Phil that the gang will not hesitate to kill anyone found talking to the police once they discover who it is.

EastEnders: Mark Crosses the Line
Desperate for Phil’s assistance, Mark turns to his uncle for help. But Phil reveals he still plans to leave the country with Nigel later that day, leaving Mark with few options.
Realizing he must act quickly, Mark makes a shocking move and betrays his own family.
When Julie returns early from Edinburgh, Mark seizes the opportunity. He tells her that Phil intends to take Nigel to Portugal. Stunned, Julie reacts immediately and informs Phil that she and Nigel are moving out.
Phil is devastated as his plan to keep Nigel out of a care home falls apart. Julie hurriedly packs Nigel’s things and demands his passport, leaving Phil powerless.
Mark’s risky gamble pays off. With Phil defeated and miserable, he finally agrees to assist his nephew.

EastEnders: Ravi Finds Himself in the Crosshairs
While Mark believes he’s tracking an unknown police informant, viewers are already aware of the truth: the real snitch is Ravi.
As Mark warns Phil that the informant’s life is at risk, Ravi is at home trying to repair his relationship with Nugget. Following his earlier attack on his son, Ravi attempts to make amends by treating Nugget and Denzel to a day out.
For a brief moment, things seem to improve. Ravi feels relieved as the day goes smoothly and Nugget’s panic attacks appear to ease.
However, with Mark determined to protect himself and the pressure mounting, it seems clear that Ravi’s period of calm won’t last. Trouble is looming, and it’s only a matter of time.
