Tuesday night’s episode of EastEnders marked the exit of two fan-favorite characters from Albert Square: Freddie Slater and Anna Knight.
Actors Bobby Brazier and Molly Rainford, who play Freddie and Anna, said goodbye to the iconic square in the December 2nd episode of the BBC soap as their characters set off on a worldwide adventure together.
Following her character’s departure, 25-year-old Molly, who joined EastEnders in 2023, took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message along with several photos.
She wrote, “Your girl Anna Knight is off to [Australia]. I can’t put into words how amazing the last few years at @bbceastenders have been. Anna’s laughed, cried, worked, and lived in the Vic (still surreal), been in a love triangle, been spiked, got pregnant, had tough conversations about race, and her mum even came back from the dead. No wonder she needs a break from Walford!” reports OK!.

*”It really is a family — the cast and crew are something truly special. I’m going to miss working with them every day.
Especially the wonderful Knights, Beales, and Peacock/Carters. I couldn’t have asked for better people to learn from and laugh with day in and day out.
Thank you all so much for the love and support — it means the absolute world to me. I’ve made so many beautiful memories on Albert Square, and here are just a few of my favourites.”*
She ended her post with a playful hint, writing: “And let’s be honest, no one goes travelling forever. Love, Molly” followed by a heart and wink emoji.
Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Lauren Branning, replied: “Oh Molly!! You are missed! Can’t wait to see what’s next” along with a heart emoji.

Molly’s fiancé, Tyler West, shared his pride by writing: “You’re amazing — so, so proud of you!!” along with a heart emoji.
One fan looked back fondly, saying: “What a journey it’s been! I still remember Anna’s very first appearance on the Square like it was yesterday. So proud of you, Molls xx.”
Another admirer expressed their support: “I’m truly proud of you, Molly. You’ve achieved so much, and I’m excited to see what the future has in store for you! Best of luck, beautiful xx.”
A different follower added their praise, saying: “Can’t wait to see what you do next, gorgeous. So proud of you.”
