Fans Rush to Support After Beloved Emmerdale Actor Announces ‘That’s a Wrap’
An Emmerdale star has received an outpouring of support from fans following his online exit announcement.
Dean Andrews joined the ITV soap in 2019 as Will Taylor, the father of Dawn (Olivia Bromley), and quickly became entangled in some dramatic storylines.
In 2022, he married Kim Tate (Claire King), a relationship that experienced plenty of ups and downs. Tragically, on Christmas Day 2024, Will died from a heart attack sparked by an argument with Kim.
Fans will remember that Kim and Will had recently rekindled their romance after months of conflict, and she had even suggested they renew their vows on Christmas Day as a step toward moving forward together.
However, Kim was unaware that Will had been secretly working with her former financial advisor, Peter (David Michaels), and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in a scheme to undermine her. The truth was revealed on Christmas Day, and tragically, Will suffered a heart attack and passed away.
Since leaving Emmerdale, Dean Andrews has stayed busy, recently working on a project in Spain. On Tuesday (November 11), he took to Instagram to announce that he had wrapped up filming.
He captioned the post: “And that’s a wrap for Deano over in Spain. Can’t wait to grow the beard back. It’s been an amazing experience.” Fans quickly flooded the comments to show their support.
One follower wrote, “Lovely pic, good luck with your next role.” Another added, “Love Dean, such a great actor, miss him on Emmerdale.” A third commented, “Looking amazing there.”
Earlier this year, Dean Andrews addressed his Emmerdale exit in a video posted to Instagram. The actor expressed how much he enjoyed working with his “little family on Emmerdale,” describing the cast and crew as “really lovely people.”
He explained that he felt it was the right time to “move on” and was excited about what 2025 would bring. Taking a subtle jab at ITV, Dean apologized for not filming a farewell video, quietly adding, “I wasn’t asked!”
He captioned the clip: “Just a quick message from me to thank you all and to clear up any rumors about my character. Wishing you all a wonderful 2025, and hopefully, we’ll meet again on the other side.”
