Emmerdale fans think they’ve uncovered Kev Townsend’s secret Coronation Street link in what could be a major crossover twist.
ITV viewers will recall that Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) secret prison husband, Kev (Chris Coghill), recently turned up in the village — much to the annoyance of his ex-husband, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Kev claimed he had been released from prison on compassionate grounds, telling Robert that he was suffering from a terminal illness and had only months left to live.
However, local doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) has since discovered that Kev’s health condition isn’t nearly as severe as he led everyone to believe.
Last week, Kev and Robert renewed their wedding vows before heading off to London for a few days, as Robert continues to conceal his rekindled romance with Aaron.

Ahead of next year’s highly anticipated Corriedale crossover, some soap fans are speculating that Kev might have a surprising link to Coronation Street villain Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
Theo is currently at the centre of a dark coercive control storyline involving his boyfriend, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
The manipulative character, who was once married to a woman named Danielle (Natalie Anderson), spent much of his life hiding his sexuality after his deeply religious parents forced him to undergo conversion therapy as a child.
ITV viewers have been left heartbroken as Theo continues to control and abuse Todd, cutting him off from his loved ones and turning violent towards him.
One fan has even theorised that Theo and Kev could be connected through their shared experience with conversion therapy, pointing out that both characters use similar calming techniques.

“Will Kev from Emmerdale and Theo from Corrie know each other in the crossover? They both wear the same wristbands and use them to steady themselves. Could they have met during conversion therapy?” one fan speculated on a Facebook page.
Another added, “Ooh, this would be really interesting!” while a third commented, “They’re so alike — I could definitely see this happening.”
A fourth viewer agreed, saying, “That would be amazing! I can already sense fireworks ahead!”
Coronation Street and Emmerdale have since confirmed that their upcoming crossover will feature a special interactive twist, bringing the two soap worlds together in an exciting way.
Fans will even get the chance to cast their votes for their dream on-screen pairing to feature in Corriedale.
