Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle may be facing heartbreak as fans believe they’ve ‘discovered’ exactly what her husband Cain was doing in France
Emmerdale fans have speculated a shocking cheating twist involving Cain Dingle.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been a key figure in the soap for 25 years, first appearing in 2000. Known as the village bad boy and ladies’ man, he’s become a long-standing fan favourite.
Throughout the years, he’s been part of several major storylines — from his romance with cousin Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to his affair-turned-relationship with Moira (Natalie J. Robb) — ensuring his life in the Dales has never been short of drama.
Recently, things have become even more intense, as Cain discovered that his son Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) had been murdered by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). As viewers will remember, John killed Nate last year and disposed of his body in a lake.
Nate’s body was eventually discovered, and John succeeded in framing an innocent person for the crime. However, his lies soon unraveled when the truth about his actions was finally revealed.
With everyone turning against him, John resorted to blackmailing Caleb Miligan (William Ash) into helping him escape, ultimately managing to flee to France. Determined to make him pay, Cain then left the village to hunt him down.
This week, Cain returned to the village after being arrested. His wife Moira was furious with him, as he appeared to be on a path of self-destruction, even taking out his anger on those closest to him, including his son Kyle (Huey Quinn).
Cain eventually confessed to Moira that he hadn’t been able to find John in France, though he did manage to locate some of John’s former army friends. Feeling defeated, Cain turned to alcohol, which ultimately landed him in trouble with the police.
In Thursday’s episode (October 16), Cain managed to make amends with his family after receiving some tough love from his friend, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
However, fans are convinced that Cain is still keeping a secret about what really happened during his time in France. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers have begun speculating about a possible heartbreaking cheating twist.
One fan commented, “Never seen Cain like this before, hope he gets himself back on track.” Another added, “I think there’s more to the story…” A third speculated, “Maybe he cheated on Moira while he was away.” A fourth said, “If that’s true, I’ll be devastated.”
