“Fans rushed to support a cherished Emmerdale star after she shared an update on her health online.”

An Emmerdale actress received support from her co-stars after sharing a health update online.
Laura Norton first appeared on the ITV soap in 2012, joining the Dales as Kerry Wyatt, mother to Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). She quickly became a fan favourite.
Over the years, she has been involved in several major storylines. From her complicated relationship with her daughter Amy to her surprising romantic entanglements, her time in the village has been full of drama.
Off-screen, Laura is in a relationship with actor Mark Jordon, who played Daz Spencer on Emmerdale in 2014 and later returned between 2017 and 2019.

Laura and Mark met on the ITV set and got engaged in late 2018. They later welcomed a son, Jesse, in January 2021, followed by a daughter, Ronnie.
Recently, Laura took to social media to share a health update with her followers, revealing that she has entered perimenopause, which has caused a “blip” in her current fitness journey.
In an Instagram post, Laura wrote: “This might be a boring post for some, but a while ago I started a ’42 and Fit’ thread that many of you showed interest in and followed, and I keep getting messages asking for updates. I haven’t quit! I promise. I want to hold myself accountable for something I started, as I know it provided comfort and motivation for some of you.”
“I’m at the tail end of postpartum. I went through the postpartum hormone drop two years in a row. I’m older now, perimenopausal, have two toddlers and a dog, a job, and work for the Cure Usher charity, so finding time to exercise has been tricky,” Laura shared.
She continued: “After four years without regular exercise, I was doing HIIT three times a week in the mornings and was definitely seeing improvements in my strength and fitness.
“However, I’ve had a ‘blip’ over the past few weeks because of a heavy work schedule. Getting up at 5am and not finishing until around 7.30pm, I simply didn’t have the time to fit in any exercise. My current lifestyle doesn’t allow for a 4am start to make it work.”

“As a result, I’ve definitely been feeling more lethargic and sluggish. I have a bit more time this week, so I’m getting back into my exercise routine, but I’m also planning some lifestyle changes—earlier bedtimes so I can wake up earlier and have time for myself to stay on top of it. I’m also adjusting my diet, both what I eat and when I eat,” she shared.
She concluded her post: “I’ll continue documenting this journey here. It keeps me motivated, and I love hearing from others. We’re not alone in this. If there’s anything specific you’d like to see or hear about, please let me know! I’m also eager to hear from those of you who have been messaging me about your progress. Accountability and results!”

Laura’s fans and fellow celebrities quickly flooded the comments to show their support. Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield, posted three applause emojis and a heart emoji.
Gemma Atkinson, star of Carly Hope, wrote: “Persistence over perfection every day! Keep chipping away! As long as you feel good, that’s what matters.” One fan added: “You’re amazing, Laura, and this post is a testament to your strength. I always look forward to seeing your updates.”
Another fan commented: “Amazing! Well done. Finding time while juggling work and family life is no easy feat. Go you! You look incredible anyway, lovely lady.”
