Emmerdale is gearing up for explosive drama on the hit ITV soap
Emmerdale fans are in for a gripping Christmas with a string of explosive storylines.
On Wednesday’s This Morning, soap expert Sharon Marshall shared the latest news, spoilers, and first-look teasers.
In one festive reveal, Sharon, 54, disclosed that Emmerdale icon Kim Tate will be “fighting for her life.”
The soaps writer and expert explained: “Sam and Lydia are central to Christmas. Sam makes a terrible decision he’ll regret for a long time — it all revolves around money. Poor Kim Tate — an action-packed Christmas for her, she’ll be fighting for her life. Don’t worry, she’s come back from the dead twice before, she’ll be fine! It’s set to be an action-packed festive season for her.”
Meanwhile, another first-look teaser shows April Windsor admitting to murder.
Fans will remember that April and her boyfriend Dylan Penders have recently been manipulated by Ray Walters and his mother Celia Daniels, who used the guise of repaying so-called “debts” to groom them into drug dealing.
The storyline took a darker turn when Celia forced April into attending two prostitution appointments. April refused to sleep with a client, Callum, but when he refused to accept her refusal, he attacked her. In self-defence, a terrified April grabbed a bottle of vodka and struck him over the head.
Since that incident, April has been haunted by the belief that she killed Callum, a fear that has only deepened her entanglement with Celia and Ray as they helped cover up the aftermath.
However, the teenager is unaware that Callum is actually alive, with Ray and Celia using the false news of his “death” to exert even more control over April.
In a first-look clip, April appears to confess to her father, Marlon Dingle, and Rhona Goskirk about everything that has been happening, insisting they can’t go to the police.
As the pair try to leave to get to the police station and stop Ray and Celia, April admits: “We can’t go to the police because I killed a man, I’m a murderer,” leaving her father and stepmother completely shocked.
Will they be able to save April, or could they end up in danger themselves?
