Former Emmerdale actress Lesley Dunlop, who portrayed Brenda Walker before leaving the ITV soap earlier this year, is appearing in court over two driving-related charges.

Emmerdale star Lesley Dunlop is facing court over driving offences after reportedly failing to provide her details to police during a stop.
The 69-year-old actress, best known for playing Brenda Walker on the ITV soap, could face serious repercussions just months after her departure from the show.
She appeared before magistrates last week over two motoring-related charges. According to court documents, on December 2, 2024, she was allegedly caught driving at 67mph on the M606 southbound in Bradford — 17mph over the 50mph speed limit — as captured by an automatic camera.
In a separate incident on March 26 this year, she allegedly failed to supply driver information when requested by West Yorkshire Police, breaching the Road Traffic Act.

The TV star pleaded guilty at West Yorkshire Magistrates’ Court and received four points on her licence along with a £222 fine. It remains unclear whether she was required to attend the hearing in person.
Lesley’s Emmerdale character, Brenda, departed the soap in April this year following a storyline that saw her set off on a cruise with her stepdaughter, Cathy Hope. It was later confirmed that she would not be returning to the village.

Lesley’s character, Brenda, had ended things with her ex, Eric Pollard — who, interestingly, is played by her real-life husband, Chris Chittell — after he betrayed her trust.
Before her exit was confirmed, Emmerdale viewers were left puzzled by Brenda’s sudden month-long disappearance from the show, until everything was explained through a letter written by her character.
