“Netflix is set to add a British drama featuring Sheridan Smith and a well-known Emmerdale star to its lineup.”

As winter draws near, there’s no better time to cosy up with a hot drink and a binge-worthy drama — and luckily, Netflix is bringing back another Sheridan Smith hit for viewers to enjoy. The platform is gearing up to release plenty of new content, from Victoria Beckham’s latest documentary to the highly anticipated second part of the rom-com Nobody Wants This.
However, one standout returning title is a Channel 5 drama making its comeback to Netflix after three years. The series, The Teacher, stars Sheridan Smith as a schoolteacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. The story follows Jenna Garvey, an educator who finds herself facing allegations of sexual misconduct with her 15-year-old pupil, Kyle, after a night of heavy drinking.
BAFTA-winning actress Sheridan Smith leads the cast, joined by Coldwater’s Samuel Bottomley as Kyle. The ensemble also features Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher, The Bill’s Cecilia Noble, My Mad Fat Diary’s Sharon Rooney, and Waterloo Road’s Tillie Amartey.

Last month, the BBC drama Accused arrived on Netflix, with many viewers binge-watching the acclaimed anthology series, according to the Mirror.
Each episode tells a unique story, with Accused featuring stars such as Christopher Eccleston, Mackenzie Crook, Tina O’Brien, Peter Capaldi, and Naomie Harris across six compelling episodes in the first series.
In recent years, Sheridan Smith has taken on a range of challenging roles, from office cleaner Sam in ITV’s Cleaning Up to the lead in Sky’s Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything.
Earlier this year, she played Ann Ming in the true-crime drama I Fought the Law, which chronicles a mother’s real-life fight to overturn the double jeopardy law following her daughter Julie Hogg’s murder.
The Teacher is set to drop on Netflix on October 14.
